We all know that visiting a new
church can be a little unnerving.
You're wondering what these people
are all about and how many of them
are staring at you. RELAX. That
won't happen here. This page is
designed to give you a sense of what
to expect when you visit our church.
The Building -
Pull in to the lot and park as close
to the building as you'd like. There
are several handicap spots
available for those who need them.
Come inside and take a seat. You may
sit anywhere you'd like. We don't
have reserved seating.
The Service -
Throughout the worship service, you
will see and experience many of the
same things that happen in other
churches: singing, prayer,
preaching, and announcements. One of
the unique qualities of churches of
Christ is that the traditional mode
of signing is a cappella. That means
we don't use a piano, an organ, or a
band in our services. One of the
great benefits of this is the
ability to hear the rich textures of
the human voice...the original
instrument created by God.
Another unique feature of
churches of Christ is that we
observe the Lord's Supper every
week. Some churches only do this
monthly, but we place so much
importance on being the family of
God that we take the Lord's Supper
each week. It is not required that
you observe this with us. You may do
so or not at your discretion. No one
will think anything of it if you do
not partake.
After the Lord's Supper, an
offering is taken. As a guest,
please do not feel any pressure to
give. For members of the church
though, it is important to give in
order to keep the work of the church
alive. We have several ministries
and many missions to fund and that
all takes money. Plus, we have the
same utility bills to pay just like
everyone else.
A 30-minute sermon is given each
week from one of our ministers.
Usually Chuck brings the lesson, but
sometimes Grant takes the stage or a
guest speaker will present a lesson.
One thing you can count on is
friendly people. We love meeting new
people and helping them feel
comfortable. You are our guest and
it is important to us to help you
feel at ease when you visit.
