The Gospel Mission is a ministry
near downtown Dayton with whom
we partner to reach out to citizens
of Dayton. In a month with five
Sundays, which happens four times a year, we
send a team of volunteers on the
fifth Sunday to help
serve meals to the homeless and
transient of Dayton's inner city
region. The team leaves after
morning worship to have lunch
together before arriving at the
Mission. Upon arrival, the team
helps prepare the serving line and
serves meals for about an hour.
Afterward, we help clean up and come
home.
The Gospel Mission provides numerous
2,000 calorie meals to whomever
shows up. They do this every day of
the year except Christmas and
Thanksgiving. These meals are
donated from Miami Valley Hospital
and other regional sources.
The Gospel Mission maintains this
valuable ministry as an outreach
vehicle since everyone who comes for
lunch first hears a sermon. Learn more about the
Gospel Mission on their website.
Also, learn what they're doing with
the newly acquired
Camp Jabez just south of Xenia.
