Fighting hunger can feel so overwhelming.
But it doesn't have to be. Not when you see how
you can change the life of one child, one
family, or even one community.
Think about all the "stuff" that fills our
lives. Friends, grades, shopping, music, getting
the latest game, seeing the hottest movies,
texting on your cell phone, listening to your
iPod . . . |

Life can be pretty noisy. Now imagine what it feels like to be hungry all
the time. Only one thing matters. Food! What could happen if, for one weekend, you
emptied yourself, lived above the noise, and
discovered what it's like to be hungry? How many
lives could you help save?
What's a Dollar Worth?
To you: $1 is a single
song download
To a hungry child: $1 is food
for a whole day
To you: $30 is a meal at a
restaurant with your family
To a hungry child: $30 is food
for a whole month
To you: $180 is less than what
you'll spend on soda this year
To a hungry child: $180 is food
for six months
To you: $360 is a new gaming
system
To a hungry child: $360 is food
for an entire year
In other words, you can be hungry--so
someone else can eat. This is your chance to be
seen, to be heard, to be hungry.
It's a
brand new day,
and more than
29,000 children have died of hunger and disease.
It happens every day. Only
$30 a month will feed
and care for a child. Start by asking
twelve people to donate $30 - that's
one person for each month of the year. When
they've done that, you will have raised $360,
enough money to feed and provide necessary care
to a child for a year.
Fighting world hunger
works! Because of efforts like the 30 Hour
Famine, the number of kids who die each day from
hunger, disease, and poverty has dropped from
40,000 in 1992 to 29,000 in 2007. By raising
funds and doing the famine, American teenagers are helping save
kids' lives. Do the famine!
