What is LTC?
Leadership Training for Christ is designed to stimulate and encourage
spiritual, mental, and social growth among youth in grades 3-12. Its mission is to
achieve this growth by developing skills in
leadership, Bible knowledge, and Christian
service. |
| |
|
| |
Skill
development in each of these areas will be
accomplished through participation in a variety
of individual and group events. These events
will take place within the context of a
wholesome and supportive environment designed
for the purpose of fostering enthusiasm and high
achievement among the participants.
LTC has been described as a Christian version of
4-H. There are some similarities, but LTC is
specifically geared toward developing leadership
skills in children and teens to raise up leaders
for the church.
Events
There are 22 different events at LTC divided
into three categories: Pre-Convention Events,
Convention Events, and Challenge Events.
Students can enter as many events as they are
able. They are as follows:
PRE-CONVENTION
EVENTS - students finish their
projects prior to the convention and submit them
via mail. Events in this category include: Bible
Class Teaching, Christian Website, Christian
Writing, Radio Minute Message, Short Film, and
Video Bible Drama.
CONVENTION EVENTS
- students present their projects or performance
at the convention on May 7-8, 2010. Events in
this category include: Alternative Art, Bible
Bowl, Bible Reading, Bulletin Boards, Group
Singing, Live Modern Drama, Puppets, Scrapbook,
Signing and Interpreting for the Deaf, Song
Leading, Speeches, and Traditional Art.
CHALLENGE EVENTS -
students finish special projects prior to the
convention and submit them, but these events are
not judged on specific criteria. Rather,
students are awarded according to how much they
did in their particular event. Events in this
category include: Leadership Challenge, Outreach
Challenge, Scripture Challenge, and Service
Challenge.
When and Where?
LTC takes place at the
Marriott East Indianapolis on May 7-8. The theme
for 2010 is "The Rock" based on 2 Samuel. Our
group will leave for the convention on May 7
around 4:00 pm and return late on May 8. We'll
be back for Mother's Day.
